At this time of year, as we conclude all the parties and over indulgence many of us start thinking about losing weight, taking up an exercise regime and making all sorts of promises about how we will change in the forthcoming year.
For most of us, these promises will last somewhere between a few days and a few weeks, very few will continue their new choices until they are ingrained as new habits in their life. Why is that I wonder?
Personally I think it's about motivation.
As you start the goal setting process for the forthcoming year, I invite you to ask yourself, "Why?". What is the reason that you are setting this goal? You may be surprised by the answers.
When I use this type of exercise with my clients the most common answer is based around the word 'should'. E.g. "Why do you want to start dieting and losing weight?", "because I should want to be thinner and healthier".
When we take this deeper, we see that the 'should' comes from social norms, parents, school teachers, fashion magazines, media advertising and many other outside influences.
What if you turned within and asked that inner wisdom that you have, "what do I really want to achieve, be, do or have this year." As you tap into the voice of your inspiration you will be amazed at what you are really motivated to achieve. As you operate from this place of connection you become lighter in your spirit, unfettered by 'shoulds' you are set free on the wings of true inspiration.
Once you realise what you truly want to achieve for yourself you are much more likely to reach the goal or target, you are more likely to make the time to take the action steps, and you will feel a lightness in your heart as you do all the things you know to do because it will be carried on the wings of your inspiration.
Are you ready to get lighter from the inside? Let go of the 'shoulds' and start living the unlimited possibilities of your inspiration. You will fly so much higher.

The Resurrection
"Be thou comforted, little dog, Thou too in Resurrection shall have a little golden tail." ~ Martin LutherIt's not Easter, so why am I talking about the resurrection? Because that is what happens to us over and over again, but we don't notice it. We are reborn as we change a situation in our lives but because we are asleep to our true nature we don't recognise the transformational change that is happening as we move from one thing to another.
Rebirth and renewal are the perpetual states of nature, they are constant in their state of change. We are also in our own perpetual state of change, but just like nature that are certain points in the seasons of our life that are more significant than others.
What often happens is that we see these changes as negative and we struggle and fight our way through them; we could see them as an opportunity for transformation, a resurrection.
What is it that you currently see as unobtainable or unavailable that, just like the little dog's tail, you could experience differently if you were resurrected? This metaphor for life doesn't have to be a physical death and rebirth, but the metaphysical death and rebirth of old, outmoded belief systems into an empowered vision for your life.
I am currently journeying through this transformational phase of life and it is really inviting me to consider how I create my own fences and boundaries that prevent my greater growth. I also recognise that change and transformation is happening even when I'm not consciously engaged in it and when I'm even recoiling and rejecting it on a conscious level. However no matter how extensive my resistance, change happens. In meditation I experience the greater truth and my dreams bring me wonderful stories of Phoenix and Resurrection so I know that transformation is at work in my life, just as it is in yours.
I invite you to consider your own transformational journey and seek the places you can embrace your own resurrection instead of railing against it.
Affirmation
In the infinite now of my life I recognise that I am reborn in consciousness time and again. I release all resistance and embrace the radical resurrection as well as the tiny transformation. I trust the process of life to only bring me the things I can handle and I use the tools in my tool box to process the change as it happens. I am free and flowing in the river of life. All is well.

Your solution already exists
"Infinite Mind and my mind are one mind"
If we believe that we are one with the Infinite Intelligence of all creation then it is not possible for anything other than all our solutions to already be with us. For each of us our solution does already exist, but only to the degree to which we can believe this is true.
When I was 10 years old I was fearless, I would get into all sorts of adventures and scrapes and never worry about the outcome. I would climb trees, have fist fights with boys, walk the fields for hours and race around our village on my bike with a gang of other little kids causing all sorts of mayhem. Never once did I concern myself about the things I did, which were mostly harmless fun, because I had a belief that everything was okay and that I was safe.
As I have grown older I recognise that somewhere along the journey that fundamental belief vanished. I became fearful of being 'wrong' and 'foolish', I became wrapped in the adult world of competition and facts. In knowing this I railed against it for some time, trying to reclaim my once carefree life by pushing the fears away. Living anchored in my 10 year old self, refusing to accept the changes in my life, I kept myself separate and isolated from people.
What we resist persists
As my journey of spiritual and personal growth has bumbled along somewhat haphazardly I have come to recognise the truth of persistent resistance. As I pushed against my fears, they got bigger, there were more of them and they seemed to have a greater hold over me. Now I allow my fears to be, whilst also knowing that I can change my thoughts and focus on knowing I am safe in any situation and that I am enough just as I am.
Which brings me full circle to this idea of believing that our solution already exists and that our mind is one with Infinite Mind. We can believe this or not, our choice. If in believing it we are able to consciously and subconsciously be tapped into every possible solution for every challenge in our life doesn't it make sense to choose that belief? Even if it takes some time to reprogram our mind with this knowing, if we have to practice this belief choice, we can still reap the benefit a little at a time as we remember.
Personally I have spent time with this and very deliberately sought out aspects of Infinite Intelligence that I wanted more of in my life. I have thought of people I admire and that inspire me and I have remembered that, if we are all one with Infinite Mind, I can connect to their mind, their knowledge, their wisdom, and in doing so I can integrate it fully into my consciousness and activate it in my action.
If we really get this, it's like Wikipedia without the hardware. We can think of a question or a challenge and send it out to infinite mind. Sit back and await the answer to be whispered in your ear as the Infinite speaks to you.
Your body is where the Infinite makes it's presence known in the finite
Know that you are a fully complete and perfect expression of Infinite Intelligence. Letting go of resistance, releasing old fears and beliefs will take you to a place of deep knowing which will completely fill you up with joy, peace and love. And as you fill your cup of life you will become overflowing with love for life and you will see mystical, magical transformation in every direction. You choose.
Affirmation
In this infinite now moment I remember that my mind and Infinite Mind are one mind. I know that every solution to every question, challenge or problem already exists. I choose to activate this knowing fully in my life and allow the One to whisper answers in my ear. I stay quiet and listen, I tune in and know, I sleep peacefully and dream a total resolution. In deepest gratitude I trust this eternal connection and live in faith that all my needs are met abundantly now. All is well, whole and holy.

The slippery side of surrender
“Change is the essence of life. Be willing to surrender what you are for what you could become.”So that's what I did, I said "ok Universe, I'm ready to be used in the best way I can, I want to be that which I can become and I surrender my will to the highest good."
All very noble I thought, but then I was moved into something that I didn't really want and don't really like. What's up with that? Can I take back the surrender part and get into creating my own reality please?
Ever experienced something that looks like this? Yes, it's not the first time I have either, so what can we do to bring harmony and balance back to our life?
Here are the things I have been practicing:
1. Remember I always have choice, even if it seems like I don't. In each moment I decide how I show up in this life, I decide what I do, what I say and even what I think and feel. As I remember that, I feel empowered and in control of my choices and my life.
2. Meditate. When I get out of centre I know that things don't go as smoothly as I want them to, it is at that point that I mediate more than ever, because in that state I am deeply relaxed and I am connected to the Universe in a deeper more direct way so it makes it easier for God to whisper in my ear with the perfect inspirations.
3. Pray. Even if it is the serenity prayer, it helps in the remembering that we are never alone and that as we turn things over there is Grace and perfect timing.
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”4. Breathe. When I feel the stress levels increasing and I forget I'm at choice, I just get still and breathe. My shoulders drop, my blood pressure reduces and I easily get centred and ready to continue.
I'm glad I have surrendered into my greatest yet to be and I know that every moment of my life I have the choice to live to the fullest limit of my body, to express compassion and grace with every word and thought and to step up in the biggest way I can to make a difference in the world.
Affirmation
In this infinite now moment I am at choice. I decide what, where, when, how and who. I choose to live, love and make a difference with every breath and I take right action to achieve that. I bless my life with love and gratitude and I move into surrender again and again as I remember the truth of my being. All is perfectly perfect.

A grain of a mustard seed
"The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field."Jesus, the Christ goes on to say that the kingdom of heaven is within. These quotes from the New Testament of the Christian bible have been interpreted literally, but what if we took a different look at them, a metaphysical look.
The analogy I use for pure potential of life is the acorn, because for me it is something more tangible. In this story the idea of the mustard seed has more potency because of it's tiny size. We are being asked to look at the very tiniest part and know that even in that there is infinite potential and that it sits within us.
So what is 'the Kingdom of Heaven'? Again there are many translations of this idea, but I believe it to be the self realisation of God in Man, that we are each part of the living God and that as we come to fully recognise that on every level of our being, taking it from a cerebral concept into a heart felt knowing, then we are in heaven. When we live in this place within ourselves we have moved past judging, criticising, separation and fear. Instead we move to a place of acceptance, support, faith, oneness and, the most important of all, Love. For me God and Love are interchangeable words for the same thing. As we live in complete unconditional love for ourselves and everything else, knowing that really it is all part of the same thing, then we truly are living in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Affirmation
In the infinite now I know that there is only One, the universal source of all things. I am connected to that and everything else in the cosmos. I choose to seek that knowing above all things. Before any word I speak, I anchor myself in the Oneness and speak only love. I constantly seek to live in the kingdom of heaven within myself and I forgive all the times I forget. In each moment I know that I am doing the very best that I can, that I am always practicing and I am always a perfect expression of God. All is well.

Shock and Awe
"If you're not in awe, you're not paying attention." ~ Erika Luckett & Lisa Ferraro, from their song AweI have had a wonderful opportunity to be in awe this week, but it came from intense shock. After slamming my left thumb in my car door as I shut it, thereby breaking the top bone, creating a great deal of soft tissue damage and internal bleeding as well as dislocating the joint, I was in a state of shock. I'm really squeamish, so as I saw my thumb immediately start to swell and go purple I very nearly fainted, and/or threw up.
Fortunately neither of these things happened, but that was largely to the kindness and compassion of the office workers at the place I was attending an appointment. Not wanting to miss this important appointment, I went into the office but started to realise that I may have really done some spectacular damage to my little old thumb, feeling very faint, I explained to my interviewer what had happened, she got the first aid person, another lady went next door and got some ice, and the security officer came over to make sure all was well. I was wrapped in love, kindness and compassion. My first moment of awe.
My step daughter came to collect me, took me off to hospital, where two lovely staff nurses took charge of my, gave me pain killers, got me x-rayed, lanced the nail to relieve the pressure of the internal bleeding (I know, TMI), bandaged me up and packed me off with more drugs, all within 2 hours. My second moment of awe.
My third moment of awe came when I took a box of chocolates into the office to say thank you for being so caring and compassionate. This is a government department who frequently have to deal with some challenging people and situations. I got the feeling that they don't receive many demonstrations of gratitude, and they were bowled over that I had taken the time to express my thanks. I came out of the office with tears of joy in my eyes, my small act of appreciation had made such a big difference to their day.
So what's the point?
1. Good things happen out of bad situations. I could have moaned and groaned, had a full on pity party (I did have a little one when the pain was really bad) and banged the drum of 'poor me.' Instead I took the time to seek any subconscious meaning from my injury, gave people an opportunity to express compassion and then expressed gratitude.
2. There are no accidents. Communicating with my inner self helped my to see some anger, frustration and resistance that was going on that I could have remained unaware of had this not happened.
3. Life is what you make it. No matter what is happening in your life, there is a good that can come from it, if you look for it.
So today I invite you to look for the good, even in the most painful situations. Express your love and appreciation openly and frequently, you have no idea what impact that may have on others. Be open to help and assistance even from strangers and always know you are guided and going in the best direction.
Affirmation
In this infinite now I know that everything in my life is in perfect order. I know each situation has a gift hiding within it and I choose to seek it out and treasure it. I freely express gratitude and love, I ask for help when I need it and I trust that my guidance system is always working perfectly. All is well.

Minding the body
"The subconscious mind is strictly habitual; it will play the same behavioral responses to life's signals over and over again, much to our chagrin." ~ Bruce Lipton, 'Biology of Belief'There is a now known and well documented link between the mind and the body that has dispelled Descartes belief in separateness. But even when we know the two are linked, what level do we take that to?
Louise L. Hay took her experience and training from Science of Mind and further developed the mind/body connection in her first book, 'Heal Your Body'. She went on to write 'You Can Heal Your Life', taking those observations and theories many steps further into personal growth and self love. Knowing all this, the first place I went when I broke my thumb was to Louise's mental connections to physical experience because I know that we live a conscious creative life in which there are no such things as accidents.
Thumb: Represents intellect and worry.
Broken/Fractured bones: Rebelling against authority.
Upon meditating with this information I recognised that I am feeling 'controlled' and 'cornered' into taking action that I don't really want to take. I am perceiving an authority beyond myself that is 'making' me do what I have actually chosen to do with free will and compassion. It was interesting to me that on a subconscious level I was reacting with the same old behaviour that I did when I was a child in the face of perceived authority. Having this awareness gives me an opportunity to come into alignment with my truth and allows me to release fear and subconscious belief.
When things happen to your body, be they 'accidents' or diagnosis of disease, we have a chance to carry on regardless or take a look at what is really going on for us at a far deeper level. As always we are at choice. I have always found that the occasions where I haven't wanted to look have, the situation has got worse until I have been forced to take more drastic action. These day's I always look for the mental cause that is creating subconsciously in my life because in the long run it makes the journey easier.
Your body can guide you to your highest good and greatest yet to be if you would just let it. What gift is your body bringing you today?
Affirmation
I listen carefully to the whisperings of my body, knowing that I am always guided for my highest and greatest good. My body is vibrant, vital and alive. It continues to be healed, whole and fully healthy even in the face of accidents and diagnosis. All is well and I am grateful.

Silence is golden
"Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose." ~ Elisabeth Kubler-RossI decided to stay in silence yesterday, I didn't answer the phones, check emails, tweet, blog or facebook. I simply prayed, meditated, read and wrote. It was great.
Through connecting with that part of me that is the constant stream of God consciousness I was able to be still and hear what I always describe as 'God whispering in my ear', I never stop being amazed at the ideas and insights that I get when I really make time to be still and know. One of those insights was to slightly change the format of my blog. Now each do you will see an inspiring quote at the head and an affirmation at the base. I hope this serves and supports your journey into growth and conscious expansion at a deeper level.
My purpose is to spread the knowledge that we are conscious, creative beings having an on-purpose life, no accidents, no mistakes, just constant co-creation with our Source, from which we are never separate.
We are creating, regardless of if we know it or not, conscious or unconscious, our thoughts and feelings create the experience we have of life. There are many Spiritual Laws that are at work, the most popular at the moment is 'Law of Attraction' which has sprouted many 'experts' on the subject. But there are many Spiritual Laws, that are the same as scientific laws, they work no matter if we know or understand them, they don't only work if you have been good, they don't stop working as a punishment and they don't care what colour, creed, gender, sexual persuasion, age, body size or location you exist in. Could you imagine gravity only working if you have been a good girl or boy? People would be floating off into the ether all over the place. Or what if electricity didn't come through when you flicked a switch because you love someone of the same sex. It simply doesn't work like that. These laws are always at work and they are entirely impersonal.
In the silence it is an effort to stop the monkey mind chattering all kinds of silly nonsense, but that is our practice. Like everything in life, the more we practice, the better we get, the better we get the more we want to practice, etc.
The reward, however, is so worth the practice. The moment when you stop being a body and return to the knowing of pure consciousness, the lightness, the radiance, the all embracing love. It is really beyond description. The first time I experienced that level of connection I cried, not because I was sad, but because I was so overcome with intense emotion and such a feeling of love.
I don't always get to that in every meditation, but having glimpsed it on occasion I know what to seek. You will too.
Affirmation
In this infinite now I still my body and my mind and I reconnect consciously to that part of me that is Source. I open my mind and my heart to pure consciousness and allow peace, joy and love to infuse every cell of my body suitcase. I rest in the knowledge that I am so much more than this physical incarnation and I welcome the new experience that I share form the silence. My life is perfect and I am whole.

The 10,000 things
The Tao Te Ching tells us the world of the 10,000 things (or the world of physical matter) is an expression of the nameless and formless Tao. And that everything that exists comes from and has at it's heart 'Tao'.
From a metaphysical and quantum reality standpoint we could interpret the Tao as the pure energy of creation which is all present from beginningless beginning to endless end.
The Tao is both the creator and the created.
As we stop grasping in the world of the 10,000 things and consciously place our attention on the Tao, it is quite remarkable what new insights we glimpse. To become one with the formless and to step aside and trust that we do not have to keep the world spinning or our hearts beating, then we open to the inspired wisdom of the formless world or of our inspiration.
You don't have to 'make' things happen, and often the more you push the less you achieve. So today I invite you to rest, act as if all your dreams are already arrived in form, and spend your time in Tao, with Tao, as Tao. You may be surprised at what you discover.

When the wind blows
As I gaze out of my office window I see the wind whisking the leaves from the branches and swirling them up in the air to land who knows where. As I watch the gusts take action over and over again it has me thinking about the way our lives get blown hither and thither by outside events and other peoples drama. Which leads me to thinking about all the different ways we give our power away.
The winds of our lives are always blowing, but does that mean we have to be like a leaf, at the mercy of the prevailing current or can we be more like the limbs of a tree, flexible yet anchored to the trunk?
When we are unsure of who we are, have low self esteem or are stuck in the low energy fields of stress and depression it is so easy to believe that our good feelings come from something outside of us. Have you ever experienced any of these thoughts?
"If 'he' or 'she' looks at me and pays me attention, then I'll feel good."
"I'll feel happy when I get that promotion."
"When we move into our dream home everything will be great."
"If I just had £5000 in the bank I'll feel safe."
"I'll take better care of myself when I lose 2 stone (30lbs)."
Perhaps you have thought or said some of these things in your life, perhaps you still do. It's okay, we're all on a journey, remember.
The truth is that we need to look for our good from the inside out not the other way around. Learning to love and accept who we are and coming to know at a deep level that we are okay and that even if we want to do better and be better, we will be more successful if we talk to ourselves positively rather than negatively.
It is said that there are only 3 things to consider when reviewing a property: Location, location, location.
Well when it comes to treating yourself better there are also three things to know: Stop all criticism, stop all criticism, stop all criticism.
How often do you beat yourself up, make yourself wrong, tell yourself you are stupid, fat, lazy, ugly or any other dis-empowering statement. NEWSFLASH - IT'S NOT TRUE.
Just like a new born babe, you are perfect, even in your imperfections, you are perfect.
Life has programmed certain things into you, but just like a computer you can delete stuff that doesn't work and install new programming.
Start catching yourself when you are criticising and flip it into a positive statement about yourself. Find things to appreciate about yourself, congratulate yourself when you do something well. By practicing this new programming you will wipe out the old stuff and start to recognise your inner well-being.
Become like the tree branch, be flexible when the winds of life blow, stay anchored in the truth of your okay-ness and start to love who you are.
I love you, you are already all right.

Up from depression
Depression effects a huge amount of people on the globe and it still isn't something that is spoken about openly. My own experience with the medical profession was an instant drug fix and no other help. I learned for my self that there are plenty of other options, and that although the drugs have a purpose, they also create significant side effects.
The most important thing to remember about the various forms of anti-depressants is that they are great at stopping the darkest thoughts of suicide in many cases, BUT, we have an emotional scale which the drugs shorten at both ends. Although we no longer feel the very worst of the depression, we are chemically prevented from experiencing the blissful moments because the top end of our scale has been removed.
Most doctors prescribe drugs before anything else, but you are at choice if you take them and for how long. Always listen to the advice of your medical professional but remember you do have choice. I suggest that when you are ready to stop taking them, you come off them slowly with steady reductions in dosage.
So what else can we do to start recovering from the depths of depression?
1. Walk - this sounds so simple, but staying in bed or sitting on the sofa gazing blindly at the TV are not going to help you shift your energy. Even when the voices inside your head are telling you to stay put, get up and get your walking shoes on. If you can, find a place in nature that you enjoy. I live on the coast so I could walk along the beach, throw stones, shout on a windy day, these are all great ways of shifting the energy that has become stuck.
2. Breathe - I know you are always breathing, but actually not very effectively. Right now take a really big breath, breathe all the way into your belly, and notice that as you breathe out your shoulders drop and your body relaxes a little. It is almost impossible to stay tense when we breathe deeply. Andre Weill MD says, "diet and exercise not withstanding if I could only prescribe one thing to every patient I see it would be 10 minutes of daily conscious breathing". Sit comfortably and breathe deeply, slowly and consciously, let any other thoughts blow through your mind like clouds on a windy day. Focus just on the breath, feeling it journey in and out of your body, feel the tension release and an increased level of relaxation.
3. Seek support - 12 step programs are so effective at dealing with addictions because they offer support. Seek support, either from a friend, and professional counsellor or therapist or a group of other people experiencing depression and stress. There is amazing benefit it having some form of compassionate community around you.
4. Journalling - In depression we have recurring thoughts on the hamster wheel inside our mind, by writing them down we move them from one part of our brain to another, this simple process often brings a different perspective and allows your inner wisdom to give you new ideas and possibilities. This is not like writing for an English test, this is just for you, so don't get stuck in making it perfect, let it flow from you, allow that inner wisdom to have it's way with you, it may really surprise you what come up.
5. Laugh - There is a huge amount of research into the power of laughter to heal. This applies equally to depression. Instead of watching the usual stuff on the TV, get out videos that make you laugh, go to a live show with your favourite stand-up comic, spend time with people who make you laugh. You know what hits your funny bone, so seek it out, it can make a great deal of difference even when you don't feel like it.
The final thing to consider is your spirituality. People who have some form of faith in a power beyond themselves have greater instance of recovery in all forms. Perhaps you have a beautiful church or temple you can sit in, or spend time reading some spiritual literature, my personal favourite is the Tao te Ching.
We are essentially spiritual beings having a temporary experience in a human suitcase, as we can connect to the creative source beyond us, no matter how we personally view that, we get a sense of the transitory nature of our situation, and it becomes easier to envision a better time, a time when we are not only 'back to our old selves' but transformed from the experience we have been through.
I came back renewed in ways I never thought of, and I know your healing is also complete in the perfect way.

How big is your bucket?
Imagine your entire life could all be contained in a bucket. From the minute you were conceived to the moment you jump out of your body suitcase when it stops working, every moment of your life. If it could all fit in a bucket, how big would it be?
Depending on how far into your life you are you may want to make more or less space for the moments yet to come.
Now lets have a different view. If you were to suspend reality for a moment or two and imagine your ideal life, the one where you are the prince or princess, where all your dreams come true. As you imagine the bucket for this life, how big is it?
Did you have different size buckets? Which one was bigger?
I'm going to guess that the bucket for your ideal life was bigger. Why do you think that is? Although this seems like a childish game, the truth behind it is transcendent:
The universe will deliver to you that which you believe you can accept, achieve and are worthy of receiving. Your life experiences and the programming you have received create a magnet-like field which draws to you that which you believe. The sneaky thing is that it isn't the things you say you believe, it's the things you feel you believe, which comes from the subconscious mind and the deep inner wisdom of your heart.
Do you want a bigger bucket?
Start visualising your ideal life, spend a few minutes feeling the feelings and acting as if it is already yours. Now complete the following sentences, don't edit yourself, you need to know the truth of these subconscious beliefs, so keep going with it until you really get to the depths.
I believe I deserve this dream life because . . .
I believe I don't deserve this dream life because . . .
I could have my dream life if I . . .
I could have my dream life when . . .
I invite you to spend some time with this and really allow your intuition to plumb the depth of your beliefs to uncover some of the things that are keeping your stuck. Once you can see them, it's so much easier to start the reprogramming process.
Have fun with it, don't make it a 'should', you already know you shouldn't 'should' on yourself.

You are the perfect you already
Here's a strange thought - what if there is nothing wrong with you?
What if you are the perfect weight, you know the perfect amount of stuff, you are loving enough, you have enough money, you have vibrant health and you always do the best that you can?
"Oh if only", I hear you cry.
So what if you start acting as if that were true? What if you started only focusing on the you that is already all right, instead of beating yourself up, criticising yourself and generally making yourself wrong?
Oh My Gosh, is it even possible? We have £billion industries for cosmetics, drugs, diet and weight management products, cosmetic surgery, slim look clothes, padded, push-me-up bras, the list is endless.
If you could look in the mirror and instead of speaking harshly to yourself, you told yourself how great you are, how much you are loved and how easy it is to change any old behaviours that don't serve you. And when I say 'how great you are', I'm not talk the bravado of narcissism, I'm talking true compassion and understanding. What if you spent 5 minutes every day having that conversation with yourself, how would your life change.
No one was ever motivated to change through a daily beating or constant criticism, so let go of believing that you are talking yourself into change. Make a choice today to congratulate yourself, support your positive actions and move into self acceptance and love.
You really are already ALL RIGHT.

We make the meaning
I am currently reading Thomas Moore's book 'Writing in the Sand' in which Moore gives an alternative view of the Gospels in the Christian New Testament. As I read his insights I recognise that I can decided what I believe and what meaning I give to the information I'm reading.
As I further consider this I see that this is true in every area of life. We are constantly bombarded by information, and in each moment we have a choice on what meaning we choose to attach to that incoming data.
For example: I go to a meeting at the city offices and am met by a very grumpy, aggressive woman who is decidedly unhelpful. That is incoming information. Now I can choose what I think that means. I could decided: "What have I done to upset her?" or "Snotty cow, who does she think she is?" or "Oh poor dear I wonder what sort of life she has that has her so bent out of shape?" or "This woman has forgotten, or never known, that she is divine spark, I'll send her love and add her to my prayer box".
As I am at choice I can select any possibility.
We have these kinds of interactions many time a day, sales people call us on the phone, people cut us up on the motorway, family members behave in unexpected ways, we receive compliments, we meet new people, some of us even read news papers and watch the TV. In all these scenarios we are receiving new information, it is up to us to integrate this in a way that serves us rather than allow it to knock us off centre or give our power away.
As we live more consciously it is in the little things in life that we get tripped up. It is so easy to slip out of presence and 'react' rather than 'respond' to new incoming information.

We do have a choice
It is so easy to forget to stay conscious and present in the moment, and it is up to us to make it a practice in our lives. Every new choice for change becomes a practice. Just like an athlete practices all through the year, as conscious seekers of expansion and growth we make the decision to practice our new ways of being and thinking.
What meaning will you give the information you receive today? You decide.

I AM
"All things when the are admitted are made manifest by the light:
for everything that is made manifest is light." ~ Eph. 5:13
The 'Light' is what scientists call energy, in his book 'The Power of Awareness' Neville describes it as 'consciousness' and some call it God.
'I AM' is the description given to Moses for God's name, and over the centuries we have become lost in the externalisation of this presence. Quantum science clearly tells us that everything is 'Light', that nothing exists beyond energy. If everything is the same energy or light, then that includes us.
Thus when we say "I AM" we are claiming our Divine nature, our oneness with all of creation, our place in the universal flow and abundance. This is the very essence of who and what we are.
Then we say, "I AM a Mother", "I AM a Manager", "I AM a Minister". These are still the same I AM, but just like a cut diamond, they are different facets of the One. When we look beyond our physical body suitcase we see something separate from ourselves, yet if there is only energy then those that we see as 'other' are really just more facets of the diamond of creation.
The paradox here is that we have free will, so it is up to us to select our truth and to believe what ever we choose. We can make that choice even in the face of overwhelming evidence presented against our belief.
I AM is the definition of the entire creation, it is the creative cause for all things. As we bring this from an idea or concept in our head, into a deep knowing in our heart as the very essence of our being we create a permanent connection to our Source. For me I AM is also the definition of unconditional love, for it is love that is the creative force in any creation story.
Once this connection is made there is never a moment of aloneness, separation or loss. With that deep knowing everything becomes possible. Regardless of how you call it and what your interpretation is. Once the I AM is known in your heart you're complete. From then on the path of deeper self discovery and the journey back to your true self is just a matter of time.
I think it is this fundamental search that we are all on. We get side tracked thinking we can have the same feeling from shopping, chocolate, alcohol, sex or hard drugs. But ultimately whether we know it consciously or not, every one of us is searching for our return home, to know Source with an intimacy that is beyond any other relationship available in the human experience.
What I know from my own journey is that every mediation, every prayer, every expression of gratitude took me closer to it, even though I didn't know what I was seeking.
So where ever you are on your journey, I invite you to keep taking the steps, doing the practice and trusting the process of life to nudge you constantly just like the river always making its way back to the sea. You are on course to your Source.
I AM and so are you.

Baby steps all the way
When we start out in life we have no choice but to take baby steps in all that we do because we are babies.
As we grow up and learn stuff we start trying to run. We run to keep up with our peers, we run because we are told we 'should', we run because we think we already have the answers.
But where are we running to?
Often, with all this running, we hit a wall. Perhaps it is a wall of disease, perhaps it's one of stress or depression, or maybe it is one of divorce or separation. Upon hitting the wall we are forced to re-evaluate our situation and think about who we are and why we are doing what we're doing.
When we are running, we are too busy to think about these things, we are stuck in the activity trap. I used to have a job where I regularly worked 10 hour days and commuted 5 hours a day, in the evening all I could so was collapse into bed, often not even taking time to eat anything, only to get up the next morning and do it all again. And I wondered why I had no energy to do anything at the weekend. It wasn't until I left the job that I recognised the damaging effect it was having on my life and my physical body. It took almost 4 months before I was back to my normal energy levels and sleep patterns. It is so easy to get stuck in the hamster wheel of life.
What can we do about that? . . . TAKE BABY STEPS
Hitting a wall in some area of our life forces us to stop and take stock. It is at that point that we are forced to slow back down and start taking baby steps. Become child like in our approach, stop thinking that we already have the answers and that we know what is best and start listening for the still small voice of our inspiration to guide us. And it will guide us. We just need to take the moments to be still and know that we are so much more than the rushing, competing, exhausted person we have become.
When we take time to develop a conversation with our inspiration it is totally amazing what happens. Long since forgotten thoughts return to us and ignite old passions, we take journeys for no reason and meet the partner of our dreams, we have books fall on our head that provide the perfect answer to our question. All these things can happen when we allow ourselves to become quiet and centred instead of rushing headlong into the next drama.
Dr. Andrew Weill says not counting diet and exercise if he could only prescribe one thing to every patient he sees it would be 10 minutes a day of conscious breathing. Sit still and focus only on your breath for 10 minutes! That can fix up your life. Only 10 minutes, that's all it takes. So do it.
Do it now and don't wait until you hit the wall.
I always ask my students the same question when they tell me they don't have time to meditate or spend 10 minutes breathing consciously every day: "If I gave you £1m to find the time, could you find it?"
The answer is invariably YES, so it's not that you don't have the time, it's that you haven't yet made it a priority in your life. Like everything else, you are the only thinker in your mind and you can choose what you make important.
If you want more of the good stuff, I invite you to make these choices:
I wish you an equally spectacular day. Enjoy.

Are you an acorn?
Imagine you had never seen an acorn. You hold it in your hand and look at this little nut wondering what it might grow into.
A wise person comes to you and points at an ancient, massive oak tree and says, 'that tiny acorn will grow into this amazing oak tree'.
Could you believe it is possible? As you gaze up and up and up at this huge tree, taller than all the buildings around it, you wonder about what is in the tiny little acorn that could hold the potential of a mighty oak.
The acorn has within it the infinite potential of the oak. The unlimited possibility to grow for centuries and become a landmark in a village or town or city. It grows with the seasons, nurtured and nourished by the sun, rain and soil.
What potential do you have within you? Are you like the acorn?
You have infinite potential and unlimited possibility in your life.
And you can choose to allow the process of life to support you and help
you grow or you can allow yourself to be trampled under foot and never
achieve the unique purpose you are here for.
Just like the acorn grows into an oak and the tomato seed grows into a tomato plant, you grow into the perfect you that you're here to be. You have unique skills, talents and gifts that are an essential part of the infinite possibilities that you are.
Next time you are feeling down or experiencing a challenging time in your life remember you are an acorn, that you have all the potential of the universe within you, allow the life experience you have to nourish and nurture you, the sun and the rain, and allow yourself to bloom and blossom where you are planted. The fertile soil of your life will bring you all that you need to thrive.

Begin with the end in sight
This is great advice if we are living a linear life with the expectation of definite results, but modern science tells us that we live in a hologram with everything happening NOW. There is no end, no past, no future. If we get lost in the concept of an ending we are limiting ourselves to our vision of possibilities. In the holographic world we have infinite possibilities with endless potential, therefore our best option is to set goals, create targets, cultivate dreams and have all those things without end.
In my life journey towards spiritual awakening for a big part of it I didn't even know that I was going anywhere. As a younger person I felt like a pin ball, bouncing from one drama to another, rebounding from other peoples drama and regularly finding myself in a repeating loop of self destructive behaviour and pain.
I didn't consider an end other than suicide, which occasionally seemed like a very viable possibility.
Something deep within me had been calling the 'more' of life, as August Gold describes it, through me from an early age. I had been a spiritual seeker in high school, but back then I couldn't find any support for the things I felt inside me and having zero self esteem I decided I must be wrong and stopped searching.
I bumbled along from one drama and crisis to the next until September 11th 2001. In the destruction of the twin towers something in my head broke, the flood gates opened and I was finally diagnosed with clinical depression, prescribed anti-depressants and sent home. I walked away from an executive job in local government and didn't work again for 18 months.
The paradox in this is that ultimately this experience was the catalyst for my deepest healing and from where I am today I say, "Thank you, thank you, thank you."
In many lives we somehow have to hit bottom before we can be transformed. In the first few days after my diagnosis as the world was in shock over the events in America, I was numb, partly with drugs and partly through the thick fog that had consumed my mind and my body. In this place I was forced to surrender, I had nothing left, my soul was empty and my mind was incapacitated. I was all out of options and could only hide under the duvet and cry.
I know you're reading this and thinking how can I be so grateful for this experience, but it really did change my life. As I emptied myself of all that I thought I knew about life, all that I had been taught about strength and power and simply surrendered to the Universe, or God, or Spirit, call it what you will, I was able to start a healing process that was deep and wide.
With my cup completely empty the universe could pour in new wisdom, it could reveal and remind me of the things I 'knew' as a younger person and it could allow me the time I needed in quiet contemplation to start the rebuilding process.
The thing I knew when I was in high school was that I was connected to everything, that the concept of God I was being taught didn't fit me, I was born knowing that the kingdom of heaven is within. The days, weeks and months following my collapse allowed me the time to explore this more fully, to discover that other people had written about it and believed what I knew. In the depth of my depression I learned that I wasn't mad. Another of those mystical paradoxes.
Depression and stress remain 'secret' assassins. Ten years on they are more prevalent than ever, but are still not discussed openly. If you are experiencing any level of these things I invite you to know that you can recover and rebuild your life to greater heights. If I can do it, trust me, anyone can.
It wasn't a quantum leap to becoming 'The Metaphysical Motivator', it remains a journey and a practice. I recognise that I am the only thinker in my mind, that there is only the infinite now and in that now moment I am creating my life with every thought, feeling, word and deed in partnership with the Infinite Presence of Life and Love.
No matter where you are in life and how bad things are or have been, you can return to wholeness. Trust the process of life to support you, surrender to the infinite potential to deliver the perfect solution and practice radical self love, you are worth it and you deserve a magnificent life.
So yes, I say thank you for this experience and each day I practice radical self love and deep gratitude for the magnificence of all life.

As Oprah says, "When we know better, we do better."Inspired by Z Egloff's blog http://lifeinzd.com/how-ben-kingsley-changed-my-life/ I got thinking about what impelled me to go from stress and struggle to the life of bliss and unconditional love that I have now. At first I couldn't see any kind of a golden thread, but as I reviewed my journey I began to see that after each low I would recover and seek something different from life. I would read another self help book, attend another class, meditate a couple of times always ultimately falling off the spiritual wagon and diving headlong back into lack, limitation and stress.

Winter's coming
The trees that frame my office window are turning red and gold and the leaves are becoming more scarce. This got me thinking about the nature of our lives and of the seasons. As winter creeps up and the day light gets shorter I recognise that, just like the trees, now is my opportunity to turn within, to reflect on the new growth that has been achieved in the spring and summer, the autumn harvest I have reaped from that growth and now to plan what seeds to sow for the forthcoming year.
Just like on the land, we are the farmers for the fertile soil of our minds. And in the same way, we can only do our part, the rest is down to Spirit, the Universe, God or Mother Earth to provide the sunshine and rain.
I saw a quote the other day - Life is like photography, we develop from the negative.
The rain of our life is just as important to our growth as the sunshine, the time of rest and fallowness is just as important as the thrusting forth of new creation. Everything is in balance and harmony.
There is a phrase in personal development that I have been struggling with for some time. "If your not growing your dieing." I have finally decided that isn't true for me. I think it is important to have the times of quiet reflection, the time when our sap isn't rising and we allow all that has been before to integrate fully into our lives.
Nature always shows us the way. If we grow the same crops in the same field for too long the yield drops and finally nothing will grow. Even with crop rotation and fertilisation soil need rest, we are no different as we are part of nature.
Constantly pushing, thrusting, racing forward will result in an empty field if you don't take time to rest, reflect and evaluate what and where you are in life. The paradoxical thing is, when you stop and allow yourself to drift for a moment in the river of life all the things you have been pushing for suddenly fall into place.
Take a moment to watch the changing seasons, breathe the cooler autumn air and allow it to calm you. Be like a tree, let go of this years growth, turn within and nurture yourself, storing up energy for the planting of next years fresh new buds.
You are one with all things, never separate, never alone, always nourished and loved. You only need to recognise this truth for your life to be forever transformed.

On a clear day
It is easy to see the positive side of life when everything is steady, peaceful and clear. When the sun is shining and nothing is troubling you life is sweet.
But what happens when the sun goes in, the thunder clouds gather and life starts to poor down on your head? Can you still see the positives so easily?
Many people are at the ebb and flow of the circumstances of life. The outside events effect the inner balance.
It doesn't have to be that way. You can decide to stay positive and happy regardless of what happens around you. You can become the captain of your life and steer it safely through the stormy waters. You can command your thoughts and feelings to create a constantly positive vibe no matter what is happening around you.
This isn't the same as putting you hands over your ears and whistling a happy tune. This is about responding, not reacting. It's about looking at a situation, taking a breath and asking yourself, 'how do I want to be in regard to this?' Once you get clear about how you choose to be, then you can decide what you choose to do or say.
Remember, even when the sky is filled with storm clouds the sun is always shining. You decide what you want to focus on.

The Chicken or the Egg
Science has caught up with spiritual teachers from the beginning of time and has proven that what we put our attention, energy and focus on becomes manifest in the world. Science has also proven that there are different paradigms and that time is not linear as we perceive it, but rather it is holographic (everything happens at once). This got me thinking, did the scientists teach the spiritual teachers in some other paradigm or did the spiritual teachers manifest the scientific proof?
Interesting question, certainly one to get my mind racing in circles, but here’s a more useful question - what does it matter who knew first?
How often have you got wrapped in a circular argument with someone over who was right and who was wrong? How did you feel whilst arguing? And why was it so imperative that you were right?
Our ego would rather be right than happy, but the power of our spirit is much greater than that, which is why we feel so rotten when we are in the midst of an argument. Our blood pressure increases, as does our heart rate. The chemistry in our body changes and our digestive process stops. If we are really getting frustrated and angry then we’ll even almost stop breathing.
If we observed that behaviour in another as we were going about our business, we would think that a heart attack was imminent and call the paramedics. Why do we do this to our selves? More importantly why do nations do it to other nations?
The need to be right and victorious is no longer a paradigm that humanity needs to subscribe to. We don’t have to ‘fight for survival’, there is enough of everything on this beautiful planet for every human alive to have all their needs met.
This shift in consciousness has to come from within each one of us. At the moment we start to fall into right and wrong or good and bad, we have a choice. We can stop. We can step back and keep our body balanced, our mind centred and our hearts open.
Any perception of right or wrong, good or bad is simply one based on the experience we have had thus far in our life. We see through the magic filter before our eyes. Today I invite you to remove your filter, open your mind and heart and choose to stay centred in peace and happiness.
Personally I would much rather be happy than right.

A leap of Faith
Faith is something we have or don't have. Like being 'a bit pregnant' it isn't possible to have a bit of faith.
Faith can grow stronger and be more concrete in the mind and it can be lost. Because we know it cannot be seen yet we speak of it as a thing, the word 'faith' is a nominalisation. An invisible thing spoken of as a something.
Some people seem to be born with faith, yet others mystically acquire it overnight.
We can say all these things about faith and they can all be true in certain context, but actually we all have faith in particular things. For example I believe you have faith that the world will keep spinning on it's axis and it will continue on it's orbit around the sun. Because we have faith in this we also have faith that the dawn will come after the night and that gravity will continue to keep us stuck to the planet and ensure we don't drift off to outer space.
If you are reading this you probably have faith that you will have light when you flick the switch.
Gravity and electricity are both invisible, yet we have faith that they will work consistently. Why is that? Perhaps it is because we vaguely understand the laws that govern their action and behavior? (I know some of you understand those laws in far greater detail than the average.)
When it comes to having spiritual faith it sometimes seems more difficult. Yet there are spiritual laws at work in just the same way gravitation and electrical laws operate and they have been equally well proven and taught for much longer than gravity or electric have even been imagined.
We see gravity and electricity at work every day, we also see spiritual laws at work every day but we don't know it or we don't notice it.
Today I invite you to evaluate how you observe your faith, when do you remember and surrender, when do you forget and struggle? As we keep ourselves firmly anchored in the faith of our universal good or unconditional love our lives get more and more spectacular because we are in the flow. As we forget and try to manage the universe we get tired and fall into struggle.
Step off the ledge of doubt and take the leap of faith to the next amazing adventure of your life.
Remember the ancient proverb: the person who waits for roast duck to fly into their mouth will be very thin.

I will remember for you
These words are lyrics to a beautiful song by Michael Gott and Melissa Phillippe. The song speaks to the idea of remembering for another the truth of their divinity when we forget who we really are.
I am currently reading 'Power vs Force' by Dr David Hawkins. This has really got me thinking about what I can do to help me to remember who and what I really am.
I have had a personal experience of my true nature. I was overwhelmed by the love, the vibration of bliss and the 'everythingness' of the moment. I know what it feels like to be the One, to be so utterly enveloped in pure consciousness that I was simultaneously nothing and everything.
I have a reference point, but still I find it difficult sometimes to stay in that mindset of awe and absolute compassion.
How then, I ponder, can I help others, who lack my reference point, to know the truth of their divinity? In the book David speaks of his own transcendent experience and how he was able to look into the eyes of patients in such a way that they could see for themselves who they really were. And I think that is actually the answer to my question.
When I am so centred in that consciousness of divinity that 'I' cease to exist and the One is all there is, then I become a mirror of that to all who are looking for themselves.
In our modern, hectic world it is so easy to get lost. To forget that we are so much more than the physical suitcase in which we rush about.
Today I invite you to remember, for yourself, for those you love and for those that you see as 'them' or 'other' the truth of our divinity. We are radiant beings of consciousness and light. We are each here to shine and in every microsecond we remember we help heal ourselves, humanity and the planet.
I am dedicated to raising the conscious vibration of the planet and I invite you to join me. I will remember for you.

Silence is golden
Spending time in the silence is the best way I know to allow the voice of my inspiration to be heard. Not just in meditation, but quiet contemplation.
What is the benefit of allowing our inspiration to have a louder voice?
Every answer exists in the collective conscious. Rather than struggling to manage the Universe, take time to be still and allow your inspiration to deliver the answer direct to your consciousness.
Doubt your ability to connect at that level? Play with it - ask a question as you go to sleep and see what answers you have in the morning. As you play and practice you will be amazed at how some time with everything switched off, sitting in quiet contemplation will allow inspiration to flood into your life.
Give it a try.

You have the power
Over and over again I coach people that feel powerless and at the whim of the fates. As we work together my clients learn that, not only are they incredibly powerful but also that they create their own fate or destiny.
As we each accept that we are part of an intricate and complex universe and that there are many other pathways that criss-cross our own we can surrender all the things we can't control and focus our attention and energy on the things we can control.
One of my clients is a national dressage horse woman. When she rides into the show arena there is nothing she can control other than her body and mind. Because horses are so sensitive, the more she can be relaxed and focussed the better she will be able to guide her horse through the test.
If we can clear our mind of what others are thinking or doing, if we can stop worrying about yesterday or tomorrow, if we can stay laser focussed on what is ours to do in this infinite now moment then we are owning our power and maximising the effect of that by taking the actions we are intuitively moved to take in the present moment.
"There are three kinds of business: my business, your business and Gods business." For God, I think of the universe.
Out of these three you only need to worry about 'my business', the rest I invite you to give up. Stay present, get focussed, own your power and move confidently in the direction of your dreams.

Limiting Beliefs = Limited Life
What we believe we can achieve.
But do we really take time to uncover what we believe in every area of our lives?
I got caught with my limiting beliefs hanging out twice yesterday and it has prompted me to take another look at certain areas of my life and the old, limiting and untrue beliefs I have.
First I found myself still invested in the old idea that "I have to work hard doing something I don't really love to make great money."
Then I compounded that with, "I must have a proper job to be successful."
Neither of these are true, and if they are still true for you I invite you to look around at the number of multimillionaires that are under 25 and have made their money 'working' a few hours a day on the internet.
These old paradigms were probably never true, but in todays changing society are definitely not true, unless you or I believe them.
Okay, now you have my dirty laundry, so what do you believe?
If you are looking to change your life with MLM, Internet Marketing or any form of business venture and you have old beliefs about work, money, rich people, lazy people etc., then you could be stopping your own success before you even open a click bank account.
Take a moment to ask yourself the following questions, and be honest with yourself, your subconscious won't be fooled by bravado:
What I believe about rich people is ....
What I believe about work is ....
What I believe about money is ....
What I believe about lazy people is ....
What I believe about how much I am worth is ....
What I believe about my ability to make more money is ....
and here's the biggie....
What I believe about myself is ....
This last one, if you're really feeling brave, go say it to yourself in the mirror, I promise you will not be able to fool yourself when you look into your own eyes and ask this question.
Now if the answers you get are a little surprising and are not quite what you want them to be, congratulate yourself.
98% of the population don't even know they have limiting beliefs, so now you have discovered yours you can start letting them go and replacing them with powerful new beliefs that will support your goals and intentions.
You are the only thinker in your mind and you deserve success in every area of your life.

Spirited vs Spiritual
We can't help but live a Spiritual life because the very breath we breathe is that Spirit, it is what we are as beings of light or energy as proven by modern science.
That said, sometimes we get lost in a mixture of teachings and collective thought about how we are 'supposed' to show up as Spiritual beings. The old concepts of pious, poor and puritanical creep up and we start to believe we are 'better than' others who are living life in the fast lane.
"You shouldn't 'SHOULD' on your self" ~ Louise L Hay
When we fall into thinking that we need to behave in a certain way to 'be Spiritual' we have got lost in the ego. We are here to be magnificent, to shine our radiance into the world and play full out in every situation.
If we live our lives fully, I believe we are living a 'Spirited' life, that our Spirit is allowed out to play and that is when we are as shiny as we can possibly be. When you try to mould yourself into something you are not you squash your spirit, when you show up as your amazing, magnificent, radiant self then you are living the whole life you are here to live.
"There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. " ~ Marianne Williamson

You have a past but you are not your past
Each one of us has all kinds of stories from the things that have happened to us in our lives. Some of them may be 'true' stories but most are the perception of truth that we saw through our filters.
Each story adds to the filters of our vision and in turn creates more stories.
We are at choice!
It is in this moment that we can decide to allow us to be stopped or limited by yesterday's stories or to let them go and trust that in life, just like the financial services industry, past performance is no indicator of future success.
Let the stories go, treat each moment in the infinite now as a fresh opportunity to thrive and flourish. Trust the process of life to guide you, support you and provide for all your needs.

Master each level
I'd like to thank my soul sister Carolyne Burnett for this idea. She shared it with us when we recorded a recent episode of the Soul Sisters radio show on One World Radio.
Imagine your life as one of those multi-layer computer games where you have to jump and run around collecting vital bonuses, mastering each level before you can get to the next.
In each level you start off not knowing the layout, having no idea where the beasties are or where to find the bonuses. As you play and replay the level you learn where all the baddies and all the goodies are hidden and you learn where each track takes you and how you need to act to get through.
There are two ways to play once you have understood the basic layout. You can rush around, defeat all that you need to and then progress to the next level as quick as possible or you can take a little more time to go around each part and collect all the bonuses.
This analogy is perfect to look at how you approach your personal growth. Do you just want to clear the issues and move on as soon as possible or are you prepared to take the time to collect all the bonuses that come from really integrating each opportunity for growth?
In the computer game we usually find that we need the bonuses from a previous level to help us get through the next one. And so it is in the game of life. If we take the time to fully absorb and process all the lessons and healing we are far better prepared for the next level. In this case it is moving to a deeper level of healing and self awareness as well as to expanded consciousness.
Growing ourselves is not something to be quickly accomplished, which is not always a popular thing to say in our ADHD society, but in-order to be successful on the next level it is vital to take all the bonuses you can find before moving up.
This concept can be equally applied to every area of your life. Master the basics, build strong roots and foundation, reap all you can from the experience and then move up and expand.
By applying this basic concept, your success is guaranteed no matter what the endeavour.

How does your garden grow?
"Do not be desirous of having things done quickly. Do not look to small advantages. Desire to have things done quickly prevents their being done thoroughly. Looking to small advantages prevents great affairs being accomplished." ~ ConfuciusThe garden of your mind is created and nurtured in just the same way as a physical garden. Capability Brown, the English landscape architect, was able to imagine the most amazing creations in his mind and then organise contractors, landscapers and architects to bring the ideas from his mind into reality. Many of the garden landscapes Capability Brown created in the 1700s still exist today and continue to be enjoyed by many thousands of people from around the world.
What do you spend your time imagining, and what difference could those imaginings make in the world?
It is so easy to get lost in creating and achieving the 'little advantages' of life, yet what would our lives look like if we focussed on the 'great affairs' that could be accomplished by just the same level of imaging?
By expanding our minds to new and greater possibilities, by letting go of our egos desire to keep us safe and small, we are able to increase the purpose that we show up with and thereby increase the impact that we can have in our world.
Your desire for success on a personal level is always increased if you have a great purpose beyond simply having more success. The inspired goal for my greater success is to teach as many people as possible how to harness the power of their own mind to transform their lives and achieve their hearts desire. That is far more motivating than waking up each morning wanting more money in my bank account or more clients on my mailing list.
What difference do you want to make in the world? If you have never thought about it, now is a great time. Studies have shown that people who seek first to make a difference beyond their own lives are far more successful than those simply seeking narcissistic gratification. Look beyond the horizon of your current environment and see what difference you can make today.

Happy Success
Success is getting what you want, happiness is wanting what you get.
What if you could achieve both of the above statements?
To be in a state of 'Happy Success' is to be in harmony with taking right actions and not be attached to the outcome.
When we are pushing and struggling to get a particular result for what ever reason we fall out of the natural flow of life. Paradoxically when we take action without being in stress about the outcome, then everything falls into place as if by magic.
How often do you hear about the two people applying for the same job? One is desperate to get it and will do anything, the other doesn't mind either way. We all know the ending to this story. The person without attachment wins the job.
Our logical mind tells us that we need to push, rush, compete and stress to achieve. How different would life be if we stay put in the flowing river of life, gently adjusting our course with a paddle here and there. You have within you a natural guidance system that when you really start to listen will guide you perfectly to action, whether that is emailing a particular person, making a call, or attending a group.
Today I invite you to stop the struggle and stress, to surrender to your bliss and allow the universe to put you in the flow of life. Stop fiddling with the effects and start being amazed at the synchronicity of life.
Your success is guaranteed if you just stop pushing.

Every word creates an outcome
I had a fab evening yesterday talking to a ladies networking group about taming the inner critic. When we were talking some of them would repeatedly say things like, 'I'm not very good' or 'I can't do that'.
We all have this self talk that comes out in our conversations, but when it is constantly re-affirming a negative belief about ourselves it is holding back our success.
The trick is to start to become the observer of yourself. Notice what it is that you say to and about yourself. Then stop and find a more empowering statement. One of my favorites is that 'I do other things better', we can't always be experts at everything but acknowledging the things we are good at and not beating ourselves up for the other things will help us build a foundation of positive self talk that will lead to greater levels of success in all areas of our lives.
You have many layers of thoughts and beliefs, many of them don't serve and support them, so start letting them go today and replace them with uplifting, empowering beliefs to help you achieve your hearts desire.

Master your inner critic
Cherri Huber, the Zen teacher says, "That voice inside your head is not the voice of God, it just sounds like it thinks it is."
When you look in the mirror what is it that your inner voice says? And does it feel genuine? We may hear a voice that says we look good and we've got it going on, but when you look deeply into your own eyes you can't fake yourself out.
For most of us the 'Inner Critic' is the first voice we hear when we look in the mirror. All the things that are not good enough about us come to the surface.
When that happens we have a choice. We can mentally agree and keep living a small life, or we can rise above these thoughts and recognize that we are good enough, that we command our thoughts and don't choose to live at their beck and call.
We are raised to believe that criticism and judgement will somehow motivate us to achieve our potential. Not true. Positive reinforcement is what will get us greater success in life.
When your inner critic takes hold and the chattering voices are telling you you're not worthy take a moment to remember your greatest success, or the most fun you had or the time when you really felt like you were walking on air.
The mind doesn't know the difference between actual events and memory, so if you keep bringing to the front of your mind all the times you were flying high then that is what you will be programmed for.
You are the only thinker in your mind, for more information on how to get greater success by using your head fill in the sign up sheet and come join the family.
You can have more and be more if you think more.

Resistance is Futile
I am not the greatest Star Trek fan but I do enjoy the concept of the Borg and their collective consciousness. There is a great opportunity for learning within this which humanity has tried many times over to create in a physical sense, but has missed the point of.
The purest concept of Communism is Oneness, the issue with it is that there are always a few who want more, become the elite and deprive the masses of the true wealth that can come from being completely equal. We are raised to believe in competition, to consider our selves separate, to live in a world where there us 'Us' and 'Them'.
In truth we are all born equal and are never separated from our creative source. We each belong to the collective consciousness of the planet and the energy system of our body suitcase is always transmitting and receiving in the infinite field of potential that quantum science has so well documented.
We now find ourselves in a place where modern science has produced evidence to prove what Native American and other earth based traditions have been teaching since the beginning of time. We are all One and our thoughts, words and deeds affect the planet and every living creature on it.
We can no longer turn our head away from these teachings. The time has come to move from competition to cooperation, from 'them' and 'us' to 'we'. Those of us who are still stuck in the old paradigm will feel increasingly uncomfortable until the inevitable will happen - change.
I know we are so close to the critical mass that will tip the balance into a world that works for everyone. A world in which WE look for ways to support and prosper each other, where we truly know that just as in nature, there is abundance in everything and no one needs to experience lack or limitation in any shape or form.
I dedicate my life to the expansion of this truth, to the teaching of practical skills to embrace this expanded consciousness and to loving without judgement or condition everything that is.
What part do you choose to play in this new world? Remember, resistance is futile, the only constant is change.

We reap what we sow
We have all heard this quote in one form or another: "What goes around comes around", "what you give out, you get back" etc. On a practical, physical level it is easy to see and understand. On a metaphysical or mental level perhaps it is less easy to experience and understand but it is no less true.
Our inner most thoughts and feelings cannot be fooled by the words we speak if we don't really believe them. I just met a woman who said, "I'm telling myself I'm not clumsy", but I had met her as she was telling me that her young daughter was very clumsy and that she got it from her. As I talked to her further, she described how the message came from her Mother, and I'm sure if I spoke to the mother she would tell me she got it from her Mum and so it goes on through the generations. Even though this woman was speaking an affirmation of not being clumsy (we'll speak on another day about 'NOT' and negative affirmation), her inner talk, thoughts and feelings were that she was very clumsy and that was what demonstrated in her life.
The more we think a thought or feel a feeling the stronger that message goes out into the universe and starts to mould the unformed substance of creation into the demonstration and manifestation of form.
Perhaps we have a repeating feeling of not being safe, and then we see situations all around us where we are threatened. Maybe we constantly place our thoughts on the 'global recession' and see lack and struggle demonstrate in our lives.
These subtle realms are no less powerful that the world of form, and we always get back the results of our thinking and feeling. This more we place our attention, energy and focus on a particular thought or feeling the more it grows. This is the creative process at work in our lives and when we fully understand how it works, just like every other scientific law or principle, we can apply it for a better experience of life.
Take a moment now to audit your thoughts and feelings. Pay particular attention to those that you have over and over again. What are you sowing, and how are the results showing up in your life?
Now is the time to dig up any seeds that you don't really want to bear fruit and start planting afresh for a nourishing, supportive, thriving crop in the spring.
You are the farmer of your life and right now you can choose the crop you want to reap.

As within, so withoutThis hermetic axiom tells us that if we are seeing something outside of ourselves, it must apply equally inside. Our thoughts and feelings are the inner seeds that we sow and we reap them in the form of our life events and experiences.

Creation everywhere
When we open ourself to the flow of the universe and to the infinite nature of creation it is amazing what we can experience.
If we get lost in believing in lack an limitation then that is what we will experience. When we open ourselves to the creation and flow of infinite abundance that is what we will find.
Today I dive into the creative potential of the universe and anchor myself in abundance.
All is well in my world

The gift of life
We are each here for a purpose, if we didn't have that we wouldn't be running around in our body suitcase right now. We are called to express our magnificence through our actions.
This morning, after my spiritual practice, I am so filled with this absolute knowing for my life and yours.
No matter where you are in life you have a sacred purpose to fulfil. It may be simply to share love with family or friends. It may be to enrich people's lives through your compassionate heart, or perhaps you have a gift for making people laugh. It really matters not what it is.
What really matters is that you recognise it, honour it and keep showing up to share it.
In the past 4 days I have been on a journey of deep healing. I have been terrified to the point of not eating, I have cried, shouted and been paralysed with self doubt. This is how Spirit shows up to help us move into deeper self awareness. In each moment I have kept doing the things I know to do. I kept putting one foot in front of the other, and I didn't believe all the thoughts inside my head.
When the next big leap in personal transformation comes it may not look pretty and it may feel like hell, but if you dive into it and allow your ego to drown in the process you will eventually come up for air and be truly reborn to a new level of self.
Keep showing up, you have a most beautiful reason for being here now, even if you don't know what that is yet.
To step back from that life and that gift will deprive another soul from the receipt of your gift that may change their lives forever.
The common theme from people who receive donations on the 'Secret Millionaire' TV show is not just that they are grateful for the money, but more importantly that someone believed in them enough to support them in that way. I believe in you 100%. I know that you already have EVERYTHING you need within you. You are loved beyond any measure and you are supported by the infinite intelligence of the universe all the way.
Today I give thanks and celebrate the gift that you are in my life.
