I choose to expect a spectacular day

Have you ever noticed that the day is shaped by the mood you wake up in? If you wake up and immediately start worrying, re-running an argument from yesterday or 5 years ago, stress about the day ahead and all the things you have to do then you will carry that energy forward into the day.

What if you took a little time before you got out of bed to breathe, review the first thoughts in your mind, know that they are just thoughts, no matter how compelling they may be, and then consciously started to program the day ahead?  Clearly you cannot drive or control other peoples behaviour. However as you are the only thinker in your mind, you can choose how and what you think and you can decide to create the most spectacular day.
I choose to expect a spectacular day!
Start by filling your body with the energy of love, thinking of people or animals that you love and that love you. Then start working through the day, envisioning how you would love to experience each moment of the day. How do you feel about the food you eat and the clothes you wear. What do your relationships look like with family, work colleagues and friends. Imagine every interaction as something that fills you up and is a great exchange of positive energy. The only limit to the day you can create is in your mind. Allow your imagination to be child like in its innocence. Release any thoughts of strife, stress and struggle. Open to the infinite mind of the universe to bring you the most amazing experiences that fill you up and nourish you in every way.

If you take a little time every morning to practice this you will see more and more transfiguration as a result. Even though you have no control over others, the more you can visualise and feel all your relationships as harmonious and loving the more that is what you will experience. Just like a snow ball rolling down a hill, the positive experiences will be ever greater, which in turn will give you more faith and confidence in the process.

If you are not sure about this, don't take my word for it, experiment for your self. Try it out, play with it, you have nothing to lose.

Today I dream my life into form. I know that my thoughts and words, impelled by my feelings and emotions, are the creative force in my world and I consciously practice creating a spectacular day leading to an ever more spectacular life.

In love

7000 year of New Thought

The Shabaka or Memphite Stone can be found in the British Museum. The reason I am telling your this is that it carries hieroglyphs from ancient Egypt telling a creation story that goes something like this, "God is in the heart and mouth of every being. Within each person the heart of God brings forth creation through thought and via the spoken word."

"OK", you may be thinking, "that's not new information, you talk about that all the time." Which is true, I do. But! This stone was carved around 3000 years ago and Egyptologists say that the teaching of this "Memphite Theology" was at least 7000 years old. Certainly makes me wonder why we call it 'New Thought'?

So as modern science, in many forms, is bringing forth evidence telling us everything is connected, there is no reality outside of ourselves and our thoughts and words are creative, I learn about a teaching that is 7000 years old that says the same thing. Clever bunch those Egyptians.

What is it that your heart mind is telling you? How can you bring that forth in the world? What words do you speak that either crush your inner vision or support it like fertiliser and help it grow. You are infinite intelligence with unlimited potential. I invite you to use your heart, thoughts and words with love and compassion.

Today I listen to the universe within me and allow my heart to guide all the I do, all that I say and all that I think.

Get Giving

In Spirit we are never measured by what we get, we are measured by the impact we have through the value we bring to the world.

What value do you bring to the world, to your friends and family and to yourself?

This is a question that is at the forefront of my mind right now. I am seeking ways in which I can serve humanity through bringing the awareness of the power of our hearts and minds to as many people as possible, to open doors in the individual and collective consciousness to the possibility of a greater life and an ever expanding experience of unlimited potential.

Every morning I spend time after my meditation tapping into my inspiration, thinking and writing about ways I can be of greater service at every level of my life. It is important that I am not a martyr, an empty well cannot quench a thirsty person. So I look to see how I can bring more value to my life first, then to the friends and family in my immediate environment, then to my clients past, present and future, then to the greater body of all sentient beings. I do have a big plan and I am not daunted by it, your plan will be the perfect size for you.

My greatest joys have always come from times when I have given something and had no thought of keeping score or expecting a return. To watch someone receive a gift, either in physical form, or by way of new insight and learning or relief from a burden, brings me such joy. When we think of the value and impact we have in our world we are giving gifts each time we make the effort or take the time to move into action. It could be a compliment, a smile, a helping hand or an encouraging word. All these things are gifts of great value and the impact of them goes out like ripples in a pond with outcomes you will never see or know.

You have so much power in your unique and perfect human form. Let go of any thoughts of smallness, unworthiness or lack. Change your focus to how can I give, how can I be of value and service and what impact can I bring.

I know in my own life, when I am helping others I never have a moments thought for my own 'stuff', the inner critic is silenced. Ensure that you keep your well filled by nurturing and nourishing yourself in what ever way works for you and then go out in the world and be of value and trust that you will have great impact.

Today I fill myself and overflow throughout the world. I give with love and love my giving as I impact more and more people through the value I bring to their lives. Thank you universe, I am so blessed.

Stop feeling the fear

I would like to thank my beloved soul sister Carolyne Burnett for the inspiration for today's words. Find out more about Carolyne at www.youcanloveyourlife.co.uk.

We, as humans, are born with two in built fears; the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. So how is it that by the time we are adults most of us have more fear than we know what to do with and, more importantly, how can we get rid of it?

Susan Jeffers has a great book entitled, "Feel the fear and do it anyway."

The title tells you the basic context of the book and if you are dealing with fears in your life this book is a must read.

We got our fears from the programming we received as children and throughout our subsequent life. As a small child what is the first thing a parent or adult does when stopping you from reaching for a hot iron or running into a busy road?  They shout, we've all done it, so it isn't about making anyone wrong. This shouting taps into one of our primal fears - loud noises. Even if we are too young to know the words, we get the message from the level of the sound. Over the years of our growth this is coupled with needs of those looking after us to behave in a certain way. Thus we learn that to avoid loud noises and the withdrawal of love we must moderate our actions in ways that maintain our well-being. We become fearful of not getting the approval or the rewards and these fears grow and magnify in our sub-conscious mind. We also absorb the fears of our care givers. My sister, Jenny, is powerfully afraid of spiders and I find it interesting that both her daughters have the same fear. We are energy sensing beings operating in a larger energy field so it is no wonder that we absorb these kinds of thoughts, beliefs and feelings.

The great thing is that as adults we can review our thoughts and we can weed out those things that no longer serve us. With fears, often described as 'irrational fears', it is often not as easy as just letting them leave our minds. We may need to do more than replace them with an empowering affirmation, although that can work perfectly well in isolation.

There are many techniques that can work on reprogramming the mind: Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP); Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT); Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and Hypnosis are just the few that spring readily to mind. Trust your inner guidance to lead you to the perfect process or practitioner for your growth, and keep working with the powerful affirmations at the same time.

Remember you are the only thinker in your mind. There is nothing that is thought that can't be un-thought and reprogrammed no matter how deeply entrenched you think you are. If you are willing to change that you can.

Today I allow Spirit to guide me to the perfect resource for my continued growth and expansion. I am willing to release all fears and embrace life with joy and love.

Imagine your life into reality

Thinking takes many forms, one of which is imagination. You, like me, may have been told when you were younger that day-dreaming your life away won't get you anywhere in life and is something to be avoided, or at the very least kept to an absolute minimum.
NEWS FLASH - we were told wrong.
By the active and conscious use of our imagination we can create the life of our dreams. Through the creativity of our mind, powered by the intensity of our senses we can create anything.

Many of us start by creating parking spaces. The easiest of things to do because we have no significant attachment to a parking space. But what happens when we want to bring forward our ideal mate, or a debt free life or even health and healing. Then we have much more attachment to the situation, and it is that attachment that keeps us stick in the old patterns and slows the creative process.

How do we do it?
Step 1 - get a clear and perfect picture of what you want, use any practical tools to help power that and then live in the picture. Spend time day-dreaming it into being. Feel the feelings, hear the sounds, smells the aromas, hear the sounds and if appropriate, taste the flavours. Use all your senses to bring the picture to life to make it as real as if it was already in perfect form in the world. Take time to imagine your picture as reality as often as you can. Always do this last thing before you go to sleep as it takes your day-dream into full subconscious dreaming. Your subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between imagination and reality so it is at work even more powerfully on your behalf whilst you sleep.

Step 2 - do not put energy and imagination into the current 'reality'. How many times have you made up a great imaginary story about the so called reality of your situation? Stop it. When you catch your self creating a story that is opposite to what you want, focus your mind back into the perfect picture. Any creative energy you are putting into the current situation is pushing away the perfect picture so keep practising Step 1.

Step 3 - release attachment to the outcome. This is where the parking places are easy and sometimes other things feel a bit more difficult. If you have a body that is full of pain it can be really challenging let go of needing a vibrantly healthy body. It isn't that you don't WANT it, but let go of NEEDING it. There is a big difference in loving the idea of having a healthy body but still focussing on the good that is already yours versus desperately needing a healthy body in order to experience any good in your life. Like everything else, it's a practice, be gentle on yourself.

Step 4 - allow your good and celebrate it. Be willing to receive the good in your life. Give thanks for everything no matter how small or how bad, it is all a gift. Sometimes we don't know how to receive. Someone may pay us a compliment and we answer with some negative comment about ourselves or the misconception of the giver, or perhaps we do something for someone and they express their gratitude in a gift, but we say, "Oh you shouldn't have, it was nothing." When ever you receive anything, be it a verbal or physical gift, the only answer is, "Thank you." How can you expect to welcome your perfect picture into reality if you don't know how to receive?

Step 5 - patience. There is such a force of good at work in our lives that sometimes there are a few other things that have to fall into place before our perfect picture can come into form. We are not in charge of the timing of the delivery. We just have to keep acting as if it is already here and spending our dream time in conscious creation.

Start with the smaller things, experiment, the more you see your creations come into form the more belief and therefore power of faith you will have for the bigger pictures.

Your senses and the feelings that come from them are the power pack that creates the picture, so make sure you are really feeling juicy about the creation.

Today I know I am the creator of my reality and I spend time in conscious imagining. I fuel my pictures with intense feelings and live in the picture as I know it is already a reality.

Doing vs Being

Sometimes we have to go back to basics in our daily practices. To focus on meditation, visualisation, prayer and affirmations. There are times when 'being' has to be the priority and sometimes when 'doing' has to be the priority.

I am just reading 'Neville', the great spiritual and metaphysical teacher Neville Goddard. There are many resources to his material, including recorded talks from the 50s and 60s. Just Ask Jeeves and I know you will find the perfect resource for Neville's teachings. The reason I am telling you is that his words have reminded me of the basics of creation.

The conscious creates the ideas and the thoughts, the seeds for all creation. The subconscious provides the creative medium, the womb of all creation. The feelings provide the power of creation, the food and nutrition for the growth to eventual manifestation. This is the short version of creation so succinctly written by Neville. When we read this at first it seems like it is all a matter of sitting comfortably and visualising what we want, going into deep meditation and allowing the subconscious to go to work. Then to feel the feelings that we need to fuel the creative process.

So where is the doing? Within this process there are many points at which we will be guided, sometimes gently, sometimes with a kick in our seat, to action. It may be that we feel guided to go to a particular place or read a certain book. We over hear the same thing mentioned several times and decided to investigate more or we hit an invisible wall in trying to move forward in a way we had imagined and are forced into a rethink. What ever way we are called to action, as the Buddha said, "No amount of sitting at the bottom of a mountain in meditation will get you to the top."

We live in the material world, and as often as I wish that I could spend all my day in contemplation, meditation, prayer and visualisation I know that if I don't plan classes, evaluate venues, write news letters and send out invites I will not be paying my bills at the end of the month.

Even though certain elements of life take precedent at certain times, this is the natural ebb and flow of life. The more we can live in harmony, using the action steps of doing and the metaphysical steps of being, in balance with each other we can create the most magnificent life and maintain it with ease and grace.

Today I trust my intuitive nature to guide me to harmony between being and doing. I honour my time for both with equal value. I give great thanks for all magnificence that I have in my life.

Your amazing power

Oh my gosh, it just amazes me how life just gets better and better. There is an old saying, "Be careful what you wish for." I have been 'wishing' - for that read speaking my word powerfully in prayer and affirmation - that I have new and expanding ways to reach people in the world to let them know that they have choice and an amazing inner power that doesn't cost them anything to use. In the last month I have started a radio show with a global audience, booked weekly workshops in my local area, started planning a global web conferencing workshop and last night, after the radio show I went along to a start-up group called New Concepts, expecting a few people to come along to the first meeting, and the room was completely full. All I can say is, "Thank you Universe." I know that my word has power, as does my imagination in creating my life, but sometimes I am totally blown away by the speed and efficiency of the delivery of results through this process.

Which brings me to the purpose of these words. The amazing inner power of which I speak is that of your mind coupled with the feelings and emotions that power your mind. Every day the human brain thinks around 80,000 thoughts, most of them the same as yesterday. What could happen if you took charge of how you used you mind, started spending time every day in conscious creation of the life you want, imagined great and vibrant health, wonderful, loving relationships, enough money to pay the bills, save 10%, give 10% away and still have a fabulous life. All of this is already within you.

The thoughts you think and the feelings and emotions that sit behind them are a powerful creative force. Rather than allow your thoughts to run amok in your head and body, why not harness this amazing power and start actively creating the life of your dreams?

Just for today I invite you to sit still for 10 minutes, think of a small child at play, creating games in their mind, not limited in any way by the practical responsibilities of adult life. Take yourself into that mind, let go of attachment to your now life, just for these few moments. Imagine a world of limitless, infinite possibilities. In this world where anything and everything is possible, what would you love your life to look like. Spend some time thinking about it, visualising it, being in it. Make your vision as juicy as possible. Bring in smells, sounds, feelings. Really embrace and embody all that it is. Then bring your awareness back to your world of this moment and write down all the things you would love to be, do and have in your life. Don't edit in your mind, don't allow premature practicality to derail you. You are a powerful thinking, feeling being. Do this exercise every day for 3 weeks, just spend 20 minutes at it and NO EDITS ALLOWED. At the end of the time you will have many lists of things, some will jump off the page as the things you really want in your life ahead of all the 'nice to haves'. Those things that bring a silly grin to your face when you think about them, those are the ones to really start putting your attention, energy and focus onto. You will truly be amazed at how things start to unfold.

The final secret - release all and any attachment to getting them, because sometimes the universe has something even better in store for you.

Today I allow my imagination to run riot in my mind, to create the most spectacular and amazing things for me. Then I allow the creative process to go to work as I consciously focus my attention and energy on the life of my dreams. I let go and let the Law do it's thing. I give thanks for everything I already have.
